After I wrapped the cuff of the sphygmomanometer around a resident’s arm to measure her blood pressure today, she started touching it sensuously and asked if it looked fashionable on her.
And then later on, I was preparing to ambulate another resident, so I placed her hands on my waist and gently pulled her up from her chair. Thinking there was an oncoming hug, she patted my back with both arms and cheerfully exclaimed, “Oh hohooo!! Okay!” I did not realize the other nurses were watching until I heard the burst of laughter from behind.
I despise infatuation. That one person just completely intoxicates and possesses your mind 24/7 and it is annoying as hell. Then again, it has seemingly been forever since such a fire had been sparked.
